Aperture is the size of the hole in the lens.The bigger the hole the more light gets into the camera and the smaller the hole the less light enters the camera.
Aperture is measured in F-stops. A low number like F1.6 or F2.2 means a wider aperture. F16 would be a smaller aperture.So its opposite,the higher the F number the smaller the aperture (size of hole) and the smaller the F number the wider the aperture.
